The Power of Infrared Sauna

It is a great day to wake up and feel alive. It is really important to feel happy about yourself and to also know that you deserve to feel healthy. With health comes knowledge and it is never the wrong time to learn about something that directly affects your body, whether it be good or bad. Something as simple and natural as sweating can be very beneficial for anyone’s health. Sweating helps to maintain the body’s temperature by cooling us down in warmer environments. The secretion of sweat can also be very rewarding in removing toxins, helping to ward off sickness, and it can also promote healthy skin. A common technique that many use in the aid of perspiration are saunas. Traditional saunas heat the surrounding air and require temperatures that range from 150 to 200 degrees, which may be hard for many to tolerate longer than 15 minutes. While instead of heating the air, an infrared sauna heats the body and only requires temperatures of 110 to 140. That sounds much cooler and a little easier to manage right? The use of an infrared sauna can be valuable in anyone’s life, especially if you don’t mind a little sweat!

An infrared sauna can be quite relaxing considering the cooler air temperature is much more tolerable. Dr. Aundrea Adams of the International Institute of Holistic Healing has gathered information on the sauna and discovered the important health benefits behind it. She found the sweat from that of a traditional sauna contained up to 97% water, while the sweat from an infrared was only 80-85% water. The other 15-20% contained heavy metals, sodium, ammonia, uric acid and fat-soluble toxins. And if you feel happy with these toxins leaving your body, then you would also love to know that the infrared sauna is useful in removing pain from the body. It works to relieve forms of inflammation by increasing circulation and relaxing your muscles. Using an infrared sauna is also helpful with weight loss. The heat emitted from the sauna will cause your body’s temperature to rise which will also lead to an increase in heart rate. This will result in the burning of more calories, and eventually can lead to weight loss. The advantage of having the temperature cooler in the infrared sauna will allow one to relax longer during a session. An article called the Effect of Sweating from the Journal of the American Medical Association, mentioned that sitting in the sauna for 30 minutes could have an outcome of burning nearly 600 calories.

There are many benefits to an infrared sauna that can assist in promoting a healthy body and mind. Sweating is natural and it is actually healing. So imagine all the other natural healings of life. Remember that everyone deserves to feel happy and healthy, come back next week to understand the power of musical healing!
